RecycledPowerSports.com
is an online auction site that specializes in selling power sport items,
including but not limited to boats, personal watercraft, motorcycles, all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, and
tools and equipment. For more information regarding the history of
RecycledPowerSports.com, please visit out “About Us” page.
If it can be considered a "Man Toy" we'll sell it. We just don't want to fill up the site with everyday vehicles and lower value household items that are better left to the local sales channels. Our audience is literally the entire world and no body does a better job of globally marketing power sports than we do.
Here is a list of some of the things we like to sell. If you have something not listed, give us a call and chances are we'll probably sell it for you.
Items
that have clear titles (not salvage or junk status) are eligible to be sold
privately. Items being sold on a “bill of sale” may also be available to
private bidders.

Online
auctions provide users access to millions of items for sale at the tip of their
fingers. Pictures, detailed descriptions, and other item specific information
are listed in the online auctions to make purchasing items online simple and
enjoyable. Items sold via online auction are processed through an online
bidding system. RecycledPowerSports.com uses a proxy bidding system, which
allows users to place a maximum bid amount on an item. The system then automatically
re-bids (up to the maximum) only when you are out bid. Proxy bid amounts are kept
confidential. RecycledPowerSports.com also offers “Buy Out” and/or “Make Offer”
options for many items. This means that the item can be purchased for a set
price at any point during the auctions duration. Another feature implemented in our auctions is
the anti-sniping auto-extension. This prevents a bidder from placing a high bid
at the last second by extending the auction if there is any last minute bidding
activity. The auto-extension period is one minute; each bid received from that
point on resets the extension timer and adds an additional minute to the
auction’s end. The auction will close once the extension period expires, which
means the minute passes with additional bids placed.
At
RecycledPowerSports.com, we want you to be satisfied with your purchase; therefore
we strive to portray any and all damage to our fullest capability. Damage will
not only be listed in the item’s description, it will also be pictured.
Detailed pictures of any damage will be shown in the bottom right portion of
the auction photos.
Yes, registered members are welcomed and encouraged to view items in person. All items listed online are currently available for viewing in person at our Springfield, Illinois location. Viewing hours are: Monday – Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Note: Please check in at the front desk with your RecycledPowerSports.com username upon arriving to our facility.
Placing a bid on an item you are interested in is easy. When viewing the item details page, you will have two areas from where you can place your bid, one next to the item details and a second at the bottom of the page. To place your bid simply enter the amount you wish to bid ex. 50.00. Please note no currency symbols are required. The bid will be placed in the auction currency. Once done you will be asked to review your bid and you will also be able to view vital item details such as the shipping conditions before confirming your bid. To submit your bid simply press the "Place Bid" button. If your bid is high enough to take the lead in the auction a confirmation message will be displayed to you, however if your bid has not taken the lead be it due to a higher proxy bid or not meeting the reserve price you will be invited to make a further bid. You can also place a proxy bid, proxy bidding allows you to place your "High Bid." At all times you will only pay the lowest required bid should you win the auction. For example, if the current bid on an auction is 500.00 you can place a proxy bid of 2,000. Should you remain the only bidder you will only pay 500.00. However should the item receive other bids the site will automatically re-bid for you (up to 2,000 in this scenario) to ensure you remain in the lead. Some items will have reserve amounts assigned to
the auction. If a proxy bid is placed below the reserve, the entire bid amount
will be shown as the current bid.
Winning bidders will
be notified following the auction’s close. Notification will be sent via email,
to the email address associated with the member’s username. Members can also
follow the auctions they are bidding on in the “Member Area” of
RecycledPowerSports.com.
Payment for an item
won is required by the winning bidder within 3 business days of the auction’s
end. Failure to pay within 3 business days will result in a $20/day late
payment fee. If the item is not paid for within one week of auction close, item
will be forfeited and winning bidder will be charged a $100 re-listing fee.
It depends on who is selling the items. The majority of the items we have listed are being sold on consigment and any taxes, if applicable, will be the reasponsibility of the buyer when he registers it. For items owned and being sold by Recycled Power Sports.com, private buyers located in the state of Illinois will be required to pay state sales tax on some transactions. Be sure to check the auction description for item specific tax information. Out-of-state buyers are only required to pay sales tax if state of residency does not permit exemption. Dealers will be required to have tax exemption documentation on file as proof of exemption status.
Pick
up of purchased items is required within one week of the auction close. Items
not picked up within one week are subject to a storage fee of $10/day.
RecycledPowerSports.com does not offer shipping or delivery services, but we will be glad to help with loading and getting items ready to ship. Item specific shipping information will be located in the auction details. Freightquote.com and uship.com are good places to look for great prices on shipment of power sports.
Auction
– The act or process of selling items through a bidding process. Items are sold
to the highest bidder.
Reserve- The minimum amount that an item will be sold
for. If an item’s auction does not reach it’s reserve amount, the item will not
be sold.
Buy
Out– An item listed with the “Buy Out” option means that the item can be
purchased at any time for the price listed. This allows users to purchase items
they are interested in without waiting for the auction to end.
Make
Offer – This feature allows users to submit an amount as an offer before item
has received any bids. The seller then decides whether or not to accept the
offer. If offer is accepted, the user wins that item for their offer amount.
Private
Bidders – private bidders are members who are not bidding under a business or
dealer license.
Title
– This is the form of paperwork that comes with most items sold. There are several
classifications of titles, such as clean/good, salvage, or junk.
Salvage
– An
item that has endured some form damaged and/or been classified as unusable in
its current state. Salvage items can only be brought out of salvage once
rebuilt and properly inspected. Salvage regulations differ from state to state.
Bill of Sale – A bill
of sale invoice is provided with every purchase in addition to title,
registration, or any other paperwork. This gives the buyer proof that they purchased
their item from RecycledPowerSports.com. Some items may be sold only on a bill
of sale, which means that they will not come with any other paperwork, such as
title or registration. This will be clearly stated in the auction details.
